d+b facades is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to refurbish the Ornithology Building, Natural History Museum, Tring. The Ornithology Building houses one of the largest ornithological collections in the world, originally created by Walter Rothschild. The building has been shrouded in protective scaffolding for some years as its precast aggregate
The completion ceremony took place on Friday 17th November 2017 for the recladding of Clements Court, a high-rise residential tower block owned by London Borough of Hounslow (LBH). Cllr Steve Curran (Council Leader) secured the last non-combustible panel. The combustible ACM cladding was removed within 10 days of the Council recognising that the building was at risk and entirely re-clad within 18 weeks.

Given the deep concerns of the residents and Hounslow Borough Council the project needed to be expedited. From the Council first contacting d+b facades on the Friday, access to the building was erected by Tuesday and all external combustible materials removed making the building fire-safe by the following Tuesday, with a sample of the recladding proposal also in place for the planners’ approval.
Further to our Press Release of 15th June 2017 we wish to support the statement that the d+b system is A1 non-combustible by sharing a number of independent Data Sheets relating to key components of our system, in particular the aluminium cladding panels, the mineral wool insulation, the fire breaks and the powder coating applied
