“Transformative”

PROJECT SUMMARY

Wiltshire College and University Centre approached design build facades to provide Overclading on the roadside elevations of the Avon and Wylye Buildings in Salisbury. The work consisted of Insulated aluminium rain-screen over-cladding and high-performance aluminium-timber composite windows, concrete repairs, and re-roofing of the entrance.

A renovation that was delivered by design build facades on time, within budget and whilst the building was being occupied by students, causing minimal disruption.

The building once looking tired and dated has been transformed looking like a new building that students will feel comfortable in and also giving Salisbury a gateway building to be proud of.

“d+b facades recently completed a project for us at Wiltshire College & University Centre, to overclad the roadside elevations of the Avon and Wylye Buildings at our Salisbury campus. These large, five storey buildings were originally constructed in the 1960’s and, although still structurally sound, were certainly showing their age.

The overcladding solution designed and provided by d+b facades and the architect can only be described as ‘transformative’ and, with a frontage directly onto the A36 Southampton Road, has become a great advert for the College.

We now have contemporary looking buildings with a performance to match that of a new build, but for a greatly reduced cost.”
