- Frameworks are effective for traditional new-build projects
- They are ineffective for refurbishment projects where the majority of the works are specialist because for commercial reasons the specialist’s proposals and price can only be provided to one main contractor
Overcladding works are frequently independent of other project works, consequently the specialist should be a stand-alone package taking single point responsibility from design through to completion.
Best value will be delivered by the specialist working directly for the client as this eliminates the main contractor’s overheads, profits and attendance costs.
