Sandwell General Hospital is an acute teaching hospital, part of the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust in West Bromwich. It provides an extensive range of general and specialist hospital services.
The project covers five elevations of the building and includes design build facades aluminium rainscreen overcladding system and high-performance integrated windows, part of a range of energy efficiency and carbon saving measures being undertaken in collaboration with Vital Energi. Alterations to hospital ward blocks and main front entrance and insulation/overlay to parts of existing roof. An external and internal mock-up has been completed, and work is now underway. The hospital will remain fully operational during the work with minimal disruption to patients and staff.
