Stratford Upon Avon College A+B Blocks

  • Client: Stratford Upon Avon College
  • Programme: August 2014 to April 2015
  • Contract Value: £0.7m
  • Scope of Work: Aluminium rainscreen overcladding and high-performance replacement windows.

Insulated aluminium rainscreen overcladding and replacement windows to two system-built teaching blocks and the link bridge. Additional works included new doors. Securing the support structure to the steel-framed building was a significant technical challenge. d+b facades innovative solution involved welding steel channel section to the existing to which its proprietary aluminium brackets and rails could then be attached.

“Refurbishment of the two teaching blocks was required in order to ensure that our students receive the best teaching and learning experience. By overcladding and replacing windows we have achieved that, delivering buildings with energy performance, appearance and life expectancy comparable to a new build but at far lower cost. We are delighted with the transformation. d+b facades worked very closely with the client team and were helpful at every stage from concept, where they overcame significant technical challenges, all the way through to completion”.
