Stoke on Trent College, ‘A’ and ‘B’ Blocks
Insulated aluminium rainscreen overcladding and high-performance replacement windows to ‘A’ and‘B’ Blocks. Overcladding the existing curtain wall which formed the central link staircase and lift shaft. Additional works included render to columns androof plant room, replacing external doors, and landscaping. By adopting an overcladding approach to the project existing asbestos was safely and permanently encapsulated, thereby negating the need for removal.
“Working closely with the client’s estates team, d+b facades carried out rainscreen overcladding works incorporating new windows and over-roofing to two buildings. One of the buildings was empty at the time of the over cladding works, as it was undergoing a full internal refit, the other building remained fully occupied throughout the works”.
