Bellamy House and Fenton House were originally constructed around 1972, and consist of 168 properties (84 per block). In 1990, a rainscreen cladding system was installed.
The project, starting with Bellamy House, comprises of the design, supply and installation of a replacement external Over Cladding System. This will encapsulate the structure and include the stripping/removal of the existing cladding Panels. Aligning with the Council’s fabric first approach (of insulation and heat loss prevention measures) for decarbonising domestic properties, the aim of the works is to meet building regulations and achieve the highest EWS Rating. The building’s life span will be extended by 60+ years with associated warranties, ensuring its future proofed, while providing improved accommodation for residents.
The work was awarded through the Hyde Fire Safety Framework – Lot 8, and came under BSA regulation, being over 18m / with residents in-situ.
